South Boston / Seaport District Real Estate

Commonly referred to as “Southie,” South Boston is located between Dorchester Bay and Fort Point Channel, just on the other side of Route 93 from the South End. Historically a predominantly Irish neighborhood, South Boston offers both an East and West side with Broadway Street running straight through it lined with restaurants and shops.

The East Side offers residents the ease of access to Castle Island Park, a great place for a weekend picnic or stroll along the water as well as Carson Beach, a prime place to catch your plot of sand and relax after a long day at work. The West Side offers quick access to major routes, transportation and is close to all that the South End has to offer. No matter which side you choose, South Boston has been one of the hottest neighborhoods in recent years with many new buildings being erected.

Perhaps among the most interesting news in South Boston is the Seaport District. Although it has its own name, it is technically a subsection of South Boston. Seaport is home to numerous wharfs, a convention center and now more and more hotels, restaurants and new skyscraping residential towers being built. Today, Seaport is among one of the fastest emerging neighborhoods in Boston. Also easily accessible to major routes including 90, 93, Ferry Service and a few blocks to Boston’s Financial District make for an ideal location.
